GOTEBORG, Sweden — Olympic silver medallist Yevgeny Lukyanenko of Russia won the men's pole vault with a leap of 5.55 metres after a jumpoff at the SamsungGalan indoor track and field meet Thursday.

Runner-up Alhaji Jeng of Sweden, who also cleared 5.55 metres, left the Scandinavium Arena with a bruised eye and trip to hospital after hitting the bar in an attempt at 5.75 metres in the jumpoff.
