I don't know what the prize structure is for all the GL meets, or the non-GL meets for that matter, but my impression is that the GL meets have the largest purses. Here's what's on the Bislett Games (Oslo) website:

Obviously the GL events ("premium" here) paid better than the others, but I imagine that the purse for the other events was still pretty good relative to the lesser meets.

If I recall correctly, the wPV was contested in the Gaz de France and Memorial Van Damme this year, but none of the other four. So if it's in all six GL meets next year as a "premium" event, then it sure looks like a good deal for all the top gals, and not just Isi.

Well, from the list above it doesn't look like they had any PV in Oslo. I think they did have mPV in Rome and Zurich, but I don't recall if they did in Berlin or not.

Okay, I looked it up, and yes, the guys did jump in Berlin. I'm pretty sure that was the meet where Hooker thought he'd cleared 6.00 only to find out later that the judges had misunderstood him, and only set the bar to 5.96.

Well that pretty much guarantees there will be no men's PV at any of the GL meets, so yeah that is bad news. Perhaps Russ or someone can comment better than I about how much of a difference it will make.

The total number of big elite meets in Europe is decreasing, and the total prize money has been decreasing lately. The effect of this is the bigger jumpers are starting to jump in more of the smaller street vaults and less major meets to make money, and it is harder for the emerging elite guys to get into meets and make money.

And that will be the case again. Van Damme will most likely install men and take out the women. Zurich will contest men's vault.
