Yuchenko and Lukyanenko and Hooker are all definitely not advancing, those are your medallists from Beijing.

Drat they showed Lavillenie clear 5.65 but I missed it. Sounds like it was a big one! Borges runs down there with his funky run and has a big jump over 5.65.

11 over 5.65 or 5.60, so 5.50 will be enough. Kudlicka, Wojciechowski are in final???

Clavier goes out. Michalski passes his remaining attempts.
I think we should be done jumping...
It says they'll take at least 12 athletes. Here's the current order:
1. Borges, Lavillenie, Mesnil, Filippidis, Starodubstev 5.65 (still alive)
6 Mohr, da Silva 5.65 (still alive)
8 Didenkow 5.65 (still alive)
9 Jeremy Scott 5.60 (still alive)
10 Miles, Michalski 5.60 (still alive)
12 Wojciechowski, Sawano, Kudlicka, Lewis, Bychkov 5.50 (all finished)

Re: WC Men - Live Updates here [Hooker out!!]
The q's are up, they are incorrectly showing Bychkov as not qualifying. Assuming the makes and misses are posted correctly, he is tied for that last spot. Hope they protest that.

Olympic champion Steve Hooker fails Daegu pole vault qualifier
ATHLETICS Nicole Jeffery From: The Australian August 27, 2011 1:10PM
AUSTRALIA has made a disastrous start to the world athletics championships in Daegu as reigning Olympic and world pole vault champion Steve Hooker failed to clear a height in the qualifying round of his event on the first morning of competition.
Team captain Hooker came into the championships with shaky form after a knee injury delayed his start to the season and technical changes left him short of form. He had cleared just 5.60m in his best competition result this year but could not muster even that height this morning.
He passed at the first two heights of 5.20m and 5.35m, before opening at 5.50m. But he did not manage a jump in his three attempts at the height, running through the mats each time to bow out in the most deflating fashion.
Hooker was relying on his big-occasion temperament to enable him to defy his pre-championship form, but could not summon the confidence that allowed him to win the 2009 world title with just one successful clearance in the final as he nursed a torn adductor muscle.

Wow!!! If he is remotely on in finals, I don't see anyone else beating him.
What is the black ribbon for?
