From the Tiger Bar Sports newsletter:

TigerBar Sports' Brad Walker brought home the gold for the USA in the pole
vault. Sporting a new haircut (courtesy of Jacob Pauli) which is part of his precompetition tradition for ma-
jor meets. "I somehow seem to have success if I have a new haircut before I go into an important competition. I did this last year as well and I jumped six meters.

Walker needed any edge he could find. "I was gassed, and I had to dig pretty deep because my prep going into this meet wasn't exactly the way I would've liked it. I have a couple of bulged discs, and it's been giving me a lot of pain, and I've had to back off the training.

How does it feel?

"It feels phenomenal! Packed house and the fans got behind us. The level of the competition was really high with nine jumpers still involved at 5.86 m. In the finals first attempts are always a huge deal. If you can make it that puts a lot of pressure on the
other competitors." Brad's first time clearance of 19'2.75 secured the gold.

We at TigerBar are very proud of Brad who demonstrates the balance between being physically strong and mentally tough, mixed with having fun. "This win gives me momentum toward the Olympics.
