Aussie
Markov is the top dog - Burgess has a 570 this year and Hooker a 565. So 560 is not meeting the A of 565 - he might have one from last year that would cover it? But has not done it this year

Hooker won their National Championships with an A qualifier, thus he was automatically on the team. Markov is well above the A so he was on also. Dunno if they're taking a 3rd.

Athletics: Brown's made to wait for Athens call-up
By Colin McMullan

14 July 2004
ZOE Brown faces an anxious five days before discovering if she is included in the British team for the Olympic Games.
The GB selectors named the bulk of their team for Athens yesterday and there was no room for Antrim pole vaulter Brown or Northern Ireland's only other serious contender, James McIlroy.
There are quite a few gaps left on the team and no athletes have been selected for the women's pole vault or McIlroy's specialist event, the 800 metres.
But the selectors will look again before naming their final squad on Monday, so the Ulster duo will be seeking to squeeze in some competition between now and then to achieve at least the B qualifying standard.
Loughborough on Saturday is a possibility, but at this moment it would appear to be a case of fingers crossed for Brown and McIlroy.
Twenty-year-old Brown has a distinct advantage, she won the pole vault at the Olympic trials in Manchester at the weekend.
Zoe's AAA title-winning vault of 4.15m was ten centimetres below the Athens standard, but she has twice cleared the B qualifying of 4.25m and will be hoping that the selectors take into consideration the wet and windy conditions at Manchester.
The British team is the smallest to be sent to an Olympics since Montreal in 1976 - but Brown's best bet may be that Britain won't want to be conspicuous by the absence of an athlete in every event.

Matti Mononen is the sole representative in the Pole Vault, but although the 20-year-old is very promising, he is not consistent enough yet. While he was close to clearing 5.72m in Lappeenranta a week before the championships, he was equal second with 5.50m at the nationals. Vesa Rantanen won the championships with 5.55m, but still has to seek for that A-standard of 5.65m to get to Athens, same goes for Mikko Latvala who was second equal in Vaasa with 5.50m.
