Pole Vault record for McGovern

Having recently been cleared to compete for Ireland, Brian McGovern celebrated in the best possible manner, by setting a new PB in the pole vault at the IC4a indoor championships in Boston. The Manhattan sophomore cleared 5.15m to improve on his previous best of 5.09m achieved last month. He cleared 5.05m at the second attempt, 5.15m at the second attempt, before knocking the bar at 5.25m. His 5.15m clearance is a new Irish record for the event. According to the Manhattan College website his brother Thomas was named the Most Skilled Gaelic Football Player in Ireland in 2006
