Petrov now Russia's National Coach

Unread postby rainbowgirl28 » Fri Oct 01, 2010 2:30 pm

I saw a blurb in Track & Field News that says Petrov has been named Russia's new national vault coach (succeeding Rodion Gataulin).

I believe Petrov has been serving as Italy's national coach for the past whoever many years, no? Does this mean he and Isi will be picking up and moving back to Russia?

Specialist, which has forced Olympic champion to take a break in her career, will prepare the Russian team for the Olympics in London.
Unprecedented repercussions appointment of Vitaly Petrov, a senior coach for pole vaulting. Cause panic attention were the hopes of resuscitation Russian ambitions in this form of athletics, which are associated with the name 72-year old teacher Yelena Isinbayeva.

First there was Len
Vitaly Petrov became the coach Yelena Isinbayeva in 2006. The famous athlete on his own initiative is left with the first coach Yevgeny Trofimov for cooperation with a former mentor of Sergey Bubka. Petrov, by the time more than 14 years has lived and coached in Italy, where she was most of the time his new pupil. In tandem with the new coach Isinbayeva won the gold World Cup 2009 and the 2008 Olympics, has set nine world records, and then was forced to take a break in career due to excessive fatigue. Isinbayeva intends to return to the sport at the beginning of next year, opening his tournament, "Russian Winter".

Sports seat Petrova and Isinbayeva is under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) hopping center of the Italian Form. Here Peter advises shestovikov both sexes from different countries.
Responsible for the entire group
Now the responsibility of Vitaly Petrov will be greater, he is ready to be responsible for the entire Russian team in the pole vault. Mentor adopted the proposal of the Russian side to take over as senior coach in this discipline. He enthusiastically willing to take up a new business and contribute to the preparation of Russian jumpers. Cooperation began at the initiative of the Russian side, which went to Peter's with the suggestion can not refuse.

"Better candidate than Vitaly Petrov, in my opinion, is not found. Coaching services Vitaly Afanasevicha known to all, and for us very lucky that such a high-class specialist has agreed to work with the national team "- leads the official website of the All-Russian Athletics Federation speech coach Valentin Maslakov.
As reported GZT. RU in VFLA, the exact date of the coach has not yet spelled out. But clearly, that he would sign a long-term contract that would allow him to start work with a team shortly. While the Russians have only a verbal agreement coach, but soon meet with him VFLA president Valentin Balakhnichev and settle all the legal and labor issues.

The sum of agreements between two parties is not disclosed. However, we know that now VFLA located in a privileged position among other federations. On the orders of public authorities VFLA in the context of preparations for the Olympics in 2012 is subsidized from the budget. Target the same
Earlier, a senior trainer for the high jump took Rodion Gataullin. Silver medalist-88 was responsible for preparing the team for this exercise for more than seven years. "We need to raise the overall level of pole vault in Russia - the coach said in an interview with the official site VFLA .- You must meet with coaches to address organizational issues, to share techniques. And most importantly, create a base for the pole-vaulter, where children could safely exercise in the winter and summer. "
In recent years the level of Russian divers have fallen markedly. In women, the situation is not so acute, and in men is much more difficult.

What we have
The team leader Yevgeny Lukyanenko-holder silver of the Beijing Olympics. However, after 2008, he was unable to show themselves nowhere. Partly because of injuries, because of which Lukyanenko missed the World Championships in Berlin - 2009 and European Championships - 2010. How to assure the coaches, the 25-year-old athlete saves itself for the Olympics in 2012 and will begin performances next season. Prior to the 2008 Olympics with Lukyanenko Sergei competed on an equal Kucheryanu. But recently, the most talented of the young Russian shestovikov requested permission to move to Australia .
