THERE was only one degree of separation from an Olympic gold medallist for pupils at St Thomas More Primary School last Tuesday.
Preps and grade 1 pupils at the Hadfield school chatted online with pole vault champion Steve Hooker, of the West Australian Institute of Sport in Perth.
Teaching and learning co-ordinator Kate Sherlock said it was great for pupils to have their questions about fitness, health, sportsmanship and the Olympic Games answered in real time.
"They were so excited to speak to a famous person."
