I've never pole vaulted before, but I've always been interested in it, so now I am thinking of joining my high school team when it starts up in March. Any tips on how I can prepare myself, any excercises or anything I can do to get ready? I am totally clueless so anything helps. Thanks guys!

You live in Seattle? You are super lucky. Just go to UW every Tuesday and Thursday night at 7:00 pm and the coach there will get you started. It's in the Dempsey indoor which is right by the stadium and behind Hec-Ed. What HS do you go to?

boo well it looks like I missed it today...
So really I just go in there and they wont think I'm crazy or anything? Can you maybe just go in there and watch them sometime?
I go to Ballard. Are you familiar with the area?
but also, getting back to the original question...

Oh yeah you can just show up. You can watch if you want, but you might as well vault. All the kids and coaches there are really nice

It costs 10 bucks per session which is really cheap.
Sure I grew up in Ballard. I went to King's HS but I competed HS gymnastics for Ingraham and we practiced at the new Ballard HS when it was built. You are lucky, nice school
Do you do gymnastics for Ballard? I wanted to stop by when I was home for Christmas but now that my sister is done I had less of a reason to. But yeah if you do, tell Wendy that Becca said hi!
