Okay so the past few weeks I've developed a really strange foot injury. The top of my feet hurt when I walk or run. The pain varies from day to day usually it's not too bad but some days it hurts like no other. It's mostly concentrated in my take off foot. I've had this problem before when I'm jumping but usually it goes away after a rest day. at first my coach thought it was nevicular, but luckily it's not. Has anyone ever had this problem before? any tips or insight is appreciated.

Have you been icing after practice?

If it's been bugging you for awhile, it's probably time to go see a podiatrist. There are a lot of small parts in your foot, a lot of different things can go wrong.

I have been icing and that seems to help. ya i think podiatrist is the next step at this point-- i was just interested to see if any other polevaulters have experienced this. it seems like such a random injury

There are a zillion different bones/tendons/ligaments in your foot. Even if someone else had similar symptoms, it could be a completely different problem.

Have you tried using different shoes? You're young and probably still growing, maybe your feet aren't liking your shoes anymore.
