Thank you Tom. For those of us fortunate enough to have been coached by Charlie know his character and abilities as both a fellow vaulter and coach. I hope those that haven't had the opportunity personally can now understand Charlie is the real deal and is well respected for what he has done.

Thank you Becca - Difficult to assess the athlete in the second clip because of the film quality and angle. However the first clip betrays an immediate and obvious concern if we are looking for an example of the Petrov/Bubka/Isinbayeva model. The young athlete - who looks like a delightful young lady - starts with the pole with her left hand well above the level of the eyes instead of 8" from the centre of the chest and pumps the pole all the way down the run way - becuae of the problems this causes with timing, she finishes up with round house late plant. Gets out of it but still shortens the left leg swing early. Remember the athlete should be able to control everything from the first step to the moment of take off - and learn to do it like Bubka -after that it does get a bit more difficult!!!

SO while it is difficult to sure -because of the pad blocking the view of the take off point - it looks as though the pole is pretty well bent before the young lady leaves the ground - not close to being a free take off -always a good indicator if someone is attempting the BPI model.

Great rural vault facility -would love to see it.
Its what you learn after you know it all that counts. John Wooden
