Here are my stats:

-First season polevaulting
-11'6'' highest meet clear
-3 lifetime meets (11'6'', 10'6'', 11')
-6'0''
-170 lbs
-17 years old Junior in high school
-poles 13' 65 pacer, 14' 65 pacer, 14' 75 UCS (I use the 13' 65)
-100m - 11.5
-I can grab rim so my vert is pretty good
-340 squat
-235 bench
-I am bending the 13 65 a ton and will use the 14 65 when it arrives next week.

I tried to give as much info as possible. I will be vaulting 5 days a week for the next couple months. I am new to vaulting and still dont get totally inverted. What is a mark I should shoot for as a goal this season? What do you think is possible judging by my stats?

that is almost impossible to tell without seeing you vault. Do you have videos of any of your vaults?

Just keep focusing on improving and the marks will take care of themselves.

I know its hard to tell but my form is okay. I dont really get vertical and I still havent learned to turn yet. I go over feet first with my back facing the ground. I got 11'6'' today with a close miss at 12'. I am holding at about 12'. I bent the pole way too much it felt like and I really thought it was going to break. My standards were at 24 inches and I hit it on the way up. I am moving up a foot in poles tomorrow so this problem with be solved. I am getting great penetration and speed I just need to get inverted and turn. I want to be an elite high school vaulter and will do whatever it takes. I got a late start with vaulting but I am learning fast and know I can do it. I am getting the BTB book soon so hopefully that will help me greatly. I want to get 14' by the end of the season and compete at states and the Empire State Games. I cant believe what I was missing by playing baseball the last 13 years. I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goals as a vaulter. This site is great and so are all you people who help poor newbies like myself.

NO WAY! I just looked up where the New York State Track Championships are this year and they are going to be held at St. Lawrence University. My older brother is a freshman there!, he plays linebacker on the football team. What good news, what good motivation.
