Hey guys,
I'm a vaulter from Lemmon, SD. This will be my 3rd year vaulting. Our coaching staff isn't that great and our pole vault choach just teaches me the basics. I've made it to the state meet the last 2 years, but only because Lemmon was the only team in our region that had pole vault so all I had to do was clear 6'6" at the region meet and I made it to state. But this year we switched classes and there are other pole vaulters in our region so I really have to work hard to make it to state. I jumped 8' all season last year and to qualify in-season for state this year is 8'3". But if there is ne advice you could give me so I could advance my pole vault skills, that would be great! I'm also getting a new Carbon pole this weekend so if ne one could fill me in on why they're so special, that would be great too!

Melissa!
a great bottom starts a great jump and is the most important part....also narrowing the grip can make it easier to invert but it should never come in more than 18 inches apart...if you have someone film you and you could post it on here it would be easier to help
pain is only temporary victory is forever
