For CORRECT Biomechanics information, you need the following two videos. This is correct mechanics...no speculation or "try this" information. Pole speed is absolutely the most important part of the vault once off the ground. These videos explain what it is, how to initiate it and how to keep it going. This is really what all vaulters need to jump high. There is no magic formula. Proper mechanics PROVEN through biomechanical study is the key. Study the technique video and work on the drills and you will have success.

I understand this is a vast generalisation, especially seeing as there are plenty of educated people on this site promoting good technical vaulting, but......
My advice to you Scott is to stay away from any videos or books made by Americans, if you have any aspirations of being really good.

Aim high, then at least if you miss you won't shoot yourself in the foot.

I think what he meant was to focus his education and study on the 6:40 model which is championed best by agapit and altius. On the other hand, most American coaches are coaching that technique now a days. The key thing is, is to study them all. Fortunately there is plenty of info out there thatinstructs on a correct and safe way to vault. Later.....Mike
