clearing 10'
Don't worry about the pole right now. Get to a camp and work on technique. It would be expected of someone who is vaulting on a 14' pole to be jumping about 13'6" or higher

Find a coach who can help you with pole transition issues, but do not go to a longer pole, especially not a 15 or 16. 15 16s are college-elite poles

my resoning behind moving to a longer pole is that if you have 2 poles of similar weight but 1 is longer the longer 1 will be able to bend more easaly...does this make sense? im bending the pole about 2 or 3 inches mostly just my weight landing on it

No it does not make sense because your logic behind it is wrong.
Look at this chart. A longer pole of the same weight rating will actually be a bigger pole and thus harder to bend.

lol see it doesnt always work like that, see you need the skill to get on a longer pole. A 15' 185 is nothing compared to a 14' 185, if you dont have the speed, the jump efficiency, and the technique to even use the 14 correctly, then the 15' pole can hurt you seriously. I learned on a 14' pole because we had a limited pole selection at school, but there are 13-13'6s that hold the same weight and are better for learning.

It works fine for me, but I've heard other people say they've had problems getting the Sky Jumpers site to work.
I'll try and copy the page onto my site. When I have time, which is not right now

I'd say work on your technique as well. A camp will help a lot. If you are capable of jumping on a 14 footer then once you learn to use technique and bend properly you will quickly move up (in weight) poles and you will jump higher without needing the added grip height.
