I feel pretty stupid asking this but, what does blowing through your pole mean? :o

Usually, it simply means you have over-powered your pole. That can mean you over bent it, or it "rolled" into the pit so fast and quickly that you would hit the bar on the way up. In that case, a vaulter would usually select the next weight rating pole to work with, or, if they don't have other poles to move to, they might shorten their run so as not to have quite as much speed/energy applied to the pole.
