nice run and "almost" a good plant.. good job

get the plant up a little earlier and higher..

instead of "curling" the left wrist, turn the thumb up more on the pole carry and plant.. on the plant put the left hand infront of your right eye..like a gun sight..

reach high and then swing up and behind the pole.. not toward the bar..

looks good and you might need more grip as you clean up your plant..

POle looks under yoru weight???

I would get a pole that is shorter move your handgrip down a fist or 2 and make sure the pole is at or above your weight. Then you will get more upward pop.
You have the talent you need the right size pole.

i have to respectfully disagree with essx..

the pole is bending and hopefully isn't below your weight..

a better plant and more grip.. should allow the pole to "pick" you up and let you swing better...

you were going deep enough into the pit but passing the pole a little..

i want to emphasis again.. better plant.. pushing both hands up..

I think that you should work on the actual mechanics of the middle and finish of the jump:

1. possibly use straight pole drills, and this will suck for awhile, but trust me if you can turn with your right foot over your left; Sort of a counter clockwise corkscrew, then you will not suffer in bar clearance later on like with your back to the bar style clearance. Anyway, work on trying to turn so that your belly is face down when clearing the bar. These will likely be lower bars at first.

I guess that's really all I have to add, so 1. really means everything. Everyobody else told you to work on your plant. Nice and tall arms extended upward at the moment of impact. Jump up off the ground, similar to long jump. Arms pressed upward rather than outward in front will help a lot with the swing.

Study again Dj the pole is too soft for this vaulter.
1. the pole is being held 12" down and out of the grip area too close to the center of the sail!
2. The vaulter is holding 12" to 18" above the height he is jumping
3. And still loading the pole with a poor plant and a short run up????
4. The pole does not lift the vaulter?
5. It throws the vaulter into the bar and towards the back of the pit and he never turns??
When the vaulter gets it all together this light pole under his weight could break or throw him ot the rear of the pit!!!

The pole isn't too light for me, its a 135 and I'm 134.

Yes I know it's a poor jump, my coach already told me this. That's why I was so disappointed. I have a few questions.
1)should I have my hands up as high as possible before it hits the back of the box? and how much before
2)Should I move my grip up? I'm not worried about penetration (in fact a little less would be better, I think)
3)when should I initiate the turn? I can turn, I just always do it at the wrong time.
4)Should I move to a heavier pole? The choices are a 14' 140 spirit or a 12' 140 mystic. The mystic was my first pole and had a pr of 9' on it.

Oh yeah I'm 15 and this is my first year pole vaulting.

Where are your standards? If they are not all the way back, you could probably move them further back.

Otherwise, I agree with everything dj said

Raise your grip.
Get your hands up.
Swing through the pole and not around it.
Rack those standards.
