I got a lefty Turning....

Unread postby sdvaulter06 » Wed Apr 27, 2005 2:31 pm

I have this kid on my team that is left handed! He is not getting very invereted yet. He is bending the pole but when he goes up it seems like he twists a lot! His feet start twisting right... Do you know any ways to help this or stop this totally ? Like Drills or something you may think he's doing? I've seen a lot of leftys this year do that spin too! Thanks lance
PM me if you know of any vaults around the Midwest!

I didn't say that! I meant that I have seen a lot of intermediate vaulters that spin to the right! No need to get offensive ;) lance

lol...the way you worded your post made it look like you thought this was a lefty-exclusive problem

(i'm a lefty...right handed though)

I always spin if i hold onto the pole all they way through to the landing (warm-ups) A kid who jumps 16' told me it's because I'm not swinging my trail leg fully.
