I was jumping at a meet this week, when the bar got up to 13', my grip was at 12'6". I was over the bar fine but i kept on bringing it down with my arms. I guess im just not used to jumping over my grip. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Im not sure its much of a problem, just need to get your arms outta the way! I did the same thing earlier this season when I was gripping 13' from a short run and taking attemps at a school indoor record 14-1, kept somehow catching my arms on the bar on the way down, soooooooo annoying

Go to the stabrochxxxxxxx(whatever the rest of it is), and pull up Bubkas 6.11 jump. Watch what he does and how "violent" his motions are from the push off to when he's finally over and ready to land on his back. My guess is is that when you get on top you might not be "pushing off"hard enough to give you the ability to somewhat arch your body and arms up and out of the way.Instead, you might just be "falling" once you've cleared. Go look at the video and see if you get what I mean then let me know back on this thread. Later...............Mike
