....very smart perspective, I guess i used to just think of my arms when planting but it is true that it is the pole tip that makes the journey rather than the your hands. So you're saying that the gravity pulling on the pole is the initiator of the plant rather than punching? the arms up before take off, gotcha Nice point Cause i know i always have back problems and sprains...understep sometimes but not always

From this perspective, I guess "dump planters," individuals who literally drop their pole from near vertical into the box and jump, must have the latest possible plant. Which is why no one should ever do that. I 100% agree, the plant is a result of what happened before it, the action of lowering the pole must be the start of the plant in order to ensure that your plant is not "late."

As a matter of fact arms move very slow in the plant. The left hand travels about 18â€Â

Well pole should be dropped freely. If you consider gravitation, air resistance and action of a left arm it will take just over a second to drop the tip into the box just about right for 6 steps. Besides, it is not a true free drop; left arm would control descent of the tip into the box, but with almost undetectable effort.

It will help. Beginners usually carry pole closer to the ground, however it would be impossible to do with the 5m/210LBS pole due to the weight of the pole.

I have a teammate that carries it about horizontal the whole run, and I think she runs a lot slower because of it.
you are probably right
