what helped me to break this comfort zone is jumping off of a box on my vault while quickening up my steps towards the end. do consistent sliding box drills, make sure to push up, look up, and keep a 'big split'. an improved plant has helped me get on a pole a foot longer this season as well as dramtic improvements for 'top end' of vault! PM if you need more specific help

move your step closer.. when you move it back your mind will continue to steer your step to the same spot.. probably because you're used to overstriding the last phase of your vault... by moving closer.. you'll be forcing quicker strides at the end...
yeah
do that then
ok
otherwise.. i'll just find someone to beat you.. it does work

OOOH YEAH

WOW! i was having that same problem at my last meet.. && of course, my coach wasnt there to advise me through it because one of the boys on my team left his pole at home && coach had to be the father figure && go get it. soo one of the coaches from another team helped me out.. i was always under, and i kept moving back but then i would stretch && still be under. So he had me start from a spot just AROUND my mark. not specifiacally on it & he made me do it without measuring.. completely unknown to where i was, i just ran, && cuz i wasnt worried about my spot.. my steps were right on... i diunno if that will help, but its worth a try. dick is one of the best coaches in the state along with mine..
