what would be the problem with my vault if i am landing too shallow into the pit. are there any ways to improve on landing more in the center of the pit? any help would be appreciated.

lower your grip or jump on a smaller pole (if its still above your body weight)

the problem is that landing shallow can be dangerous... and in terms of the vault, if your jumping really shallow you will not have a good arc up top.. which means your standards need to be in the exact right place or you will hit it on the way up or down

to fix your problem: work on your plant. period.
moving up poles too fast will also make the problem worse--cause if you dont have a good plant on a soft pole, youll have an even worse plant on a tougher pole.

let me re-iterate.......

What size pole are you on? What is your grip height? Are you planting on time/straight? Are you bending the pole at all?
If you can answer me those 4 questions, I can tell you exactly what to do to fix your problem. In most cases, lowering your grip will make you land deeper in the pits.
Remember kids, holding higher will not make you jump higher!

i am holding about at 11'6" on a 12'6" pacer mystic 130. according to my coach and other vaulters my plant seems to be on time and straight. and yes, i am bending the pole. if you can tell me my problem by this it will be greatly appreciated.

lower your grip down to 11' 2"
if that doesn't help and if you have a 12' 130, use it.
