i thought looking at the bar was a bad thing? at least thats what my coach was telling me i was doing today while i completely screwed up at a league meet, then he told me to look at the box instead, which i thought is also really bad. i dont know guys, what do yall look at when you jump to keep your focus in the vault?

nitro wrote:always focus on your top hand.....looking at the box will keep you in ur plant phase for too long and you wont even have time to swing
It also acts as a force that prevents you (your chest) from going up as well, it basically opposes the upward motion...

yeah, cant imagine someone can lead with their face and chest at takeoff if their face is downward
o and wait a second, this is for nitro, (or anyone that knows) when you say focus on your tophand, do you mean during the rockback?cuz when you plant i dont see how it would be logical to look at it, im just confused right now

what im really saying is you need something to focus on and the top hands just a perfect thing....no u cant do it when u plant cuz that would be too hard but right after you jump off the ground you should look....what it does is it keeps you from throwing your head back cuz then you well...cant see ur top hand(and throwing ur head back is the worst thing u can ever do cuz it takes so long to fix to stop doing it) and you also dont wanna stay down too long in your plant phase as after ur off the ground if u look at ur top hand right away you wont be staying down too long
pain is only temporary victory is forever
