Mr Launders, i brought and read beginer to bubka (twice) i have also read all of the threads you are reffering to(6.40 model etc) but for two reasons i need things clarified.
1. i dont live in Australia or America so i will not get the oppertunity to speak with either yourself or agapit.
2. like you said in your book, the very moment it is printed it needs to be re-written.
i believe in the technical model that you and agapit are preaching(if ever so slightly differently) and i would like to make some of the finer points clearer in my mind, so if it seems like i am asking the same questions over and over, please take it as a complment, because it just means i respect your opinion and would like to get as clear as possible a picture of how you see this sport we love.

MiT -I appreciate your position and you are right -we should be continually looking for the 'truth' and it is not all contained in BTB,. However if you look at many of the posts in the technique section over the last couple of months you will understand my point. I dont want to embarrass folk by indicating specific posts but you do not have to look too far to find questions which could easily be answered by BTB. If others have the time to answer them seriously that is good but sorry I do not. That said, if YOU have specific queries relating to BTB, contact me personally and i will try to answer them.

However just consider this - a post which asks "which is better - a big bend or a small bend" - when the really critical question is WHEN do you want to achieve maximum bend in the pole?

It is like your in my mind!!!!!

Finally someone asked the most important question of all.

Of course it came from my Aussie friend.

I would bet most Americans think during the takeoff and the supposed hang.

Which is why most can't reach inversion and cover the pole before it uncoils.

good morning

though i might summarize.. and emphasis points we need to continue to ask questions and get answers... ultimately those of use giving input will describe the same actions a litlle differently... the key is saying it enough and in ways that each reader can finally get a mental picture..
my thought process is "for every action there is and equal and opposite reaction". each "action" is the result of the action just before it.

ie.. "under" takeoff... cause. 1 wrong check mark 2. out check mark and "stretch" under 3. poor pole carry 4. short run "forcing" strides and reaching posture..

[quote]Pole Vault Check List

RUN grip, stance, posture and pole position at the start of the run….pole carry acceleration rhythm running posture coach’s checkpoint speed PLANT pole drop in rhythm 4/6 steps out.. Quick… Quick… Quick.. feet practice and visualize a quick, explosive “bounceâ€Â
Come out of the back... Get your feet down... Plant big
