Unread postby jtrouty3 » Sat May 19, 2007 3:54 pm

i'm on a 14' 145 pacer and i'm getting some good penetration with it. I'm capping it so i feel its time to move to a bigger pole...

i want to move to a 14'6 150...anybody have any tips for moving to a bigger pole like that??

Yes. Vault on a 14' 150 until you are getting good penetration on it. Then do the same on a 14' 155. Then you should be ready for the 14'6 150. I hope you have such a series.

If these two poles are all you have and you are blowing through the 14' 145, shorten your run and hold lower on it. Improve your plant technique and do some track work to improve your speed (maybe some slide box or towel runs). It isn't a small step from one pole to the other, but you can get there. Just don't think you need to cap the 14'6 pole.

Like Rhino said, stick with the smaller pole for a little while, on shorter runs. Then, when you are blowing through it on your short runs, move up to the bigger pole, but start at the same grip, if not a little lower, that you were holding on the small pole. And just remeber, wutever you do, dont move up too fast or your form will suffer and a bigger pole and a lower hieght is all you'll have to show for it
---------grip it and rip it---------
