i am 5'5 freshman guy. i weigh 140 and use a 13 160 or 165. i hold at 12' because i usually blow through if i hold higher. my pr in practice is 12 but at a meet it is 11'6. i have a wide selection of poles and i want to jump higher, what should i do?
PR- 12' from four lefts.(no full runs yet)

regarding pole selection--

If you land deep w/o much bend, raise your grip.
If you land deep with a lot of bend, get a stiffer pole.
If you land short w/o much bend, get a lighter pole.
If you land short after bending the pole a lot, hold lower.

i hold at 12' because i usually blow through if i hold higher.

you sound like you need to get a stiffer pole, not hold lower.
To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift. -Pre
