that looks like 8, lol.

it's the rubber band and you raped the hell out of it. landed far to the right too, lol.

i don't have the right to say anything though...

today i video taped me and some of the other pole vaulters. i look pretty bad going over. i get way over the pole at 9, but i have NO top form at all. i try to get inverted, but it's hard has hell, the turning is hard too....ahhhh, it's totally getting the best of me. my mentality is struck, and i have a meet tomorrow!

please, someone give me some words of wisdom. or inspiration, something!
I am the Revolutionary.

as coaches and athletes we should look at the "stiff pole pop-up as the number one "training/teaching" exersise..

4 to 6 steps... pole high above the head at the plant... body vertical.. creating a perfect triangle..

(right handed vaulter)
*run (piston steps) and plant
*swing vertical with the body vertical to the pole....
*try not to pass the pole..."line up"
*the feet at the top of the pole
*the left hand will be at the chin
*the body will be "quarter/half turn" with the right fist at the left groin..

hold that position and ride the pole into the pit..feet pointed to the back of the pit...head toward the runway...
....landing on your side in the pit

bubba has a picture somewhere..

this is a "vault" and should be a part of the warmup and daily training..
reapeated 1000's of times..

back "in the day" we had stiff pole contest... 11'3" grip (because we had a broken pole and the athlete couldn't hold any higher... ) i remember bell and cotton having some pretty good jumps..

run....plant...swing

sorry,, poor description...

good body posture with the foot striking directly under the body.. we call them "hammer" drill... some people call them high knees, quick feet or form sprinting...

fast strides.. where the ball of the foot never "reachs" in front of the knee cap..
