What happens when you try to clear a higher height? Do you hit it on the way up or on the way down? Where are your standards?

Well, if you're hitting it on the way up that means you're comin through mighty quick or you're not rocking back faster....or it could be that u are on too soft of a pole, i think you can either go for a pole that is the same weight, but make it like a foot longer, or i would really suggest stayin on the 13 footer and just get a pole that is 10 pounds more heavier

if your hitting it on the way up, the standards might be too shallower, but that depends on what they are set at.

Sounds to me like you just need to work on the rock back and inversion so you will get shot off the pole.

Well if you are jumping 12' gripping 13' then you do not need to go up in poles yet (lenghtwise). As APKpolevaulter said you want to get back into your rockback so you can push off the top of the pole and jump at least 14' gripping 13'
