Ive been reading around on the forums and seen a bunch of words describing the poles that I didnt have a clue what they were talking about ... anyone want to go in depth on the meanings or for starters what they are..

The sailpiece is usually the top layer on a pole. In shape it looks like a flat pyramid. It can be symmetric or asymmetric, and determines bend characteristics of the pole. BtB2 has an excellent chapter on this.

The chord of the pole is the virtual straight line going from your top hand to the bottom end of the pole.
