Raising the bar - Columbus High's Wade Stevens clears 13 feet to win the pole vault event at the Columbus Invitational Saturday. Jeff Hartman followed in second place as the Discoverers placed sixth overall at the eight-team boys meet, which Kearney won.
Columbus also had a good showing in the pole vault as Wade Stevens and Jeff Hartman finished first and second. Stevens cleared 13 feet while Hartman bowed out after going over 12 feet.
Tessa Porter took second before winning the pole vault with a height on 10 feet. Kim Salber followed in second.
