Included in the five selections for the 2008 Hall of Fame inductions for the Kansas State High School Activities Association is Mike Karl from Hays, former athletic director and assistant principal at Hays High School.

Other inductees are:


*¬ Jeff Buckingham, Gardner, student. A three-time state champion in pole vault, Buckingham was the second high school athlete to clear 17 feet and later went on to star at the University of Kansas. In 1983, he was the American record holder after clearing 18-10 and qualified for the Olympic Trials in 1984, '88 and '92.
