If your not part of the circuit, can you still vault in it? I had to miss it last year due to moving in to college, but would love to go this year! Just wondering...

Yea, the meet is especially for everyone else. The circuit is just to try to bring in a few elite athletes to give everyone else in the meet something to watch and shoot for. The circuit is all about getting everyone involved in the sport. Indiana State fair is exactly what that is. Bryan and those guys have the honor of having the longest running streetvault in America, they have brought recognition of our sport longer than anyone I know. LON

STATE FAIR GENERAL INFORMATION
We will run this competition in a very relaxed manner. The times are not flexible, but as in the past if there
is some free time you may jump as much as you like. It is up to you to determine what competition you will be
competing in and be on time for that event. My #’s are good but no so over whelming that I need to assign you
an event (The opening heights are flexible except for the Elite Men). Watching is Free, Participating is $25,
this entry fee gets you into an awesome competition.

The high school/masters/open competition will begin promptly at 10:30. Opening height will be determined by the
field. The height increments will be adjusted to accommodate a 2:00 finish time.

The women’s elite/championship competition will begin at 2:30 (Warm ups will be allowed during the last ½hour of the masters competition with great respect to be paid to the competing athletes). Opening height will be 3.36 (11'0.25"). Height increments 15cm between the first and second ht and 10cm from there on.

The mens elite/championship competition will begin at 5:30 (Warm ups will be allowed during the last ½ hour of the women’s elite competition with great respect to be paid to the competing athletes). Opening height will be 4.88 (16'0"). Height Increments 15cm between the first and second ht and 10cm from there on.

I have tickets to get you into the fairgrounds, without one you will have to pay $5 to get in. Please send me you mailing address and the # of tickets you need at least one week prior to the event. I will not mail any tickets after July 12th. If you are coming in the night before call me and I can give them to you that evening. We will be setting up at 10pm in the fairgrounds if you are interested in helping out or just saying hello.

Directions to the state fair grounds in Indianapolis:
Take whatever major highway you need to get to Indy (if you can’t find Indianapolis
then you don’t need to be vaulting in this event!!). Use the 38th street entrance, it is
the closest to the site of the competition.

From I-69: Take state road 37 south (I-69 turns into 37), at the point where 37 and
38th street become the same road the entrance to the fairgrounds will be on your right.

From I-65: Take 30th street east, turn left (north) onto Meridian (also known as 31),
turn right (east) on 38th street (also known as 37), the entrance to the fairgrounds will
be on your right.

From I-70: Take I-65 north to 30th street east, turn left (north) onto Meridian (also
known as 31), turn right (east) on 38th street (also known as 37), the entrance to the
fairgrounds will be on your right.
Thanks for all your cooperation and support.

I'm thinking of going...What do you think opening heights will be?
Fight the good fight: It's nice to be great but it's far greater to be nice.

NOTE THE TIME CHANGE FOR THE OPEN COMP!!!!!!!!

So here we are.................2 weeks out............70 confirmed competitors.

If you plan on attending and have not done so already.........email me (pvjunkie@hotmail.com) you name, age, best ht, mailing address and how many tickets you need to get into the fairgrounds.

YOU VAULT IN THE GROUP THAT YOU FIT IN. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE OPENING HT FOR THE "ELITE" THEN YOU ARE IN THE OPEN SO PLAN ACCORDINGLY. YES MEN AND WOMEN, BOYS AND GIRLS, GEEZERS AND GEEZALS ALL VAULT TOGETHER IN THE OPEN.

10:30 am - Opening Height for the "open" competiton - as low as we need to go (gotta get Ol' John sharpe - age 71 - over a few bars).

2:30 pm - Elite Women - 3.36 (11'0.25") - 15 cm between the first and second ht 10cm at a time from there on.

5:30 pm - Elite Men - 4.88 (16'0") - 15 cm between the first and second ht 10cm at a time from there on.
