Olympic Standards Changed

This is not much of an issue here in America. I can't imagine anyone making the Olympic team in the PV and not having the A standard.

I don't know what the standards were before, so somebody let us know if these standards are higher or lower than before...

Men
A Standard: 5.65m
B Standard: 5.55m

Women
A Standard: 4.40m (Same as before)
B Standard: 4.25m

I think the Men's Standards were

A - 5.70m
B - 5.60m
C - 5.40m

NFI about the women's......

Mens' standards were 5.60 & 5.45, dunno about the ladies. They'd been at that level since '96 or before.

Never doubt it, Harting got the 3rd spot in '00 with 5.63 or 5.62. His PR was 5.80, but someone could have easily PR'd for that 3rd spot at that height...also, in '98 or '99 all but 3 NH'd in the mens' comp because of a gusting 20MPH headwind. 5.65 won that year I believe.
