Weddington's Victoria Shobe set the N.C. record in the girls' pole vault in winning the 3A Midwest Regional with a vault of 11 feet, 7 1/4 inches Saturday at East Rowan. She broke the record of 11 feet, 7 inches set by Raleigh Millbrook's Erica Derrickson in 2001, and bettered her best by nearly half a foot. --
