recently ive been doin ALOT of work getting an aau pole vault team certified and established as well as my athletes certified. the intent was to use a local schools facilities as the activities director had said she would formally rent me the practice area. although once everything was finalized the director told me that even with all the insurance forms and everything from aau, liability would be to high and we would not be able to use the facilities. so now im stuck with about 8 very unhappy pole vaulters including myself, in citrus county florida where there is just about no sign of intelligent life when it comes to the pole vault community. PLEASE IF YOU KNOW OF ANY FACILITIES NEARBY OR ANY POSSIBLE WAY TO HELP ME OUT PLEASE REPLY OR CONTACT ME VIA cell phone or email

I feel your pain. I was the vault coach at a Florida high school for 2 years. I could not even get permission to use the pits on the weekend.
I asked the local aau coach if my vaulters could use his facilities if they joined, and he cowarded away.
I feel like I missed the past 30 years of my life. I last vaualted in college in 1979. I wake up and become the vault coach at a high school and everyone are wimps.
I can't use the weight room with my vaulters because only one coach is designated to monitor the wieght room at a time. The foot ball team can use it at any time, but not the track team.
I did not coach last year because the head coach was a football coach with an inferiority complex who did not like vaulters getting the spotlight.
I think I quit coaching due to this deuche.

Do like I did it is called equal rights. I and others went to the school board then threaten with law suits. Our pit is now out year round to use anytime. We have to fight for our sport.
