Jordan Wehr became a multiple-sport athlete when he took up gymnastics at the age of 3 and martial arts when he was 7.
Now a 17-year-old senior at Bowie High School, Wehr is part of a shrinking breed: a three-sport athlete at a Class 5A high school.

Bowie's Jordan Wehr is a large high school oddity these days: a multisport star, excelling in football, wresting and track and field.

What's this?
In an age when many student-athletes specialize in one sport, Wehr has been part of Bowie's football, wrestling and track and field programs for the past four years.
"Some people have said that I shouldn't do more than a couple sports (in a single year)," Wehr said, "but if I weren't competing, I'd be looking for something else to do."
Wehr will be plenty busy this weekend when he competes in the Region IV-5A track and field meet at Alamo Stadium in San Antonio. He will be trying to earn a state berth in three events â€â€
