Tim Lloyd, Special to The Press Tribune
Granite Bay’s Katie Zingheim was among the elite pole vaulters who gathered at the Gold Country competition.
A small group of motivated pole vaulters of various ages gathered last Friday at the Gold Country Indoor Pole Vault Center to participate in the Gold Country Competition Clinic.
Granite Bay High’s Katie Zingheim delivered a strong mark for so early in the season as she cleared 11 feet to finish just behind Del Oro’s MacKenzi Landry in the high school girls’ division.
Oakmont’s Lishen Lu had the fifth best high school boys’ vault at 12 feet and former Viking Devin Gibson cleared 12 feet, 6 inches at the college boys’ level.
