I'll need to borrow a digital camera to get pictures of my setup in here. Eventually.

ABSOLUTELY! Grab a camera. I'm taking photos of Kris Allison's Lone Star Pole Vault Ranch this morning when we swap some poles. I'll end up with a section for us and another for coaches that have big clubs like Kris.
Will you be in Boston for USATF Masters Indoors? It would be great to see you as I plan on jumping. Take care and get me those photos!! Bubba

Hopefully there will be some somewhat warmer days here in NJ in the next couple of weekends. I typically get a day or 2 to jump in December - if so I will be able to get some pictures of my setup. All the pictures I currently have show people vaulting, but you can't really see anything else other than some trees.

Good to "see" you Duncan. Maybe we'll catch up in Boston in March.
I've added Jeff Watry's backyard from his Wisconsin home. He's moved to Illinois and is the Engineering Manager for Gill. Here's the link to the backyards so far. Please send your photos and story in. Thanks! Bubba

I think one of the themes I see in the backyard setups is the area, (or percieved area) where the lawn chairs are situated around a fire pit. I know in Wisconsin and Minnesota it's almost a manditory addition for the backyard setup when an April Sunday afternoon vault session can be 35 degrees and snowing. We did that at Kevin Hanson's in St. Cloud last April and sure enough, he had the fire going in the fire pit. Later..........Mike

Fire pit - sounds like a good idea. Reminds me of when I first cleared 13'6"- it was at Bowden in spring 1984 - it was snowing. I have since moved way down south to NJ. Not nearly as cold as Maine or Wisconsin/Minnesota.
I did some vaulting today - got some pictures mailed off to Bubba. It was in the mid 30's today, but there was no wind - it was quite comfortable. A good day for working on some technique from a short run. I would not want to try a long run - the runway gets pretty hard and seems to beat up my legs a bit.
I forgot to get a picture of my high bar...maybe next time.
Here is a picture from today...first attempt at including a picture...may not work (
