I'm almost certain that it's the same as NCAA. 80 cm or 30 inches. (I was going to say "all the way back........of course". But then again we're all familiar with the saying " everybody likes a little _ _ _ _ but nobody likes a smart _ _ _ _.)

P.S. By the way. Welcome to the board! This is a great place to get all kinds of info on pole vaulting. The contributors are all great and this is definitely a fun place to visit. As a new member does that mean you're coming back to this event after an extended lay off (like most of us were when we found this site). Or have you been actively vaulting and competing. Masters conform to USATF rules. They can go from 0 to 80 cm.

Agreed. Below is from the 2008 USATF manual.
1. (a) Where the standards permit, a competitor may have the uprights or supports
moved back, but they may not be moved in the direction of the running
or runway, and they may not be moved more than 80cm toward the
landing area, from the prolongation of the inside edge of the top of the
stopboard.
