Thank You to those I met at Nationals

I just wanted to thank all the great people who I met at Nationals this weekend. It was such an incredible experience to compete again and really an eye opener as to how lacking my dedication and discipline are.

It was the most fun I have ever had at any event. The people and the stories and the camaraderie were amazing. Just the thrill of being on the runway again, and actually clearing a bar. (As most of you know I was desperately afraid of no heighting) Thank you all for all the help and advice you gave me while I was jumping. I wish I could have done the things you were telling me but my entire body was numb! I couldn’t feel anything!

What was most impressive to me was how incredibly skillful and dedicated all of you were. This was not some casual jumping session. You all take your vaulting very seriously and have honed your technique down to very exacting elements. Watching all of you jump so well has really motivated me work that much harder so that someday, maybe, I might be almost as good as you are. I can only hope that at some point I can achieve your level of competence.

As I explained to my wife on the way home, I found a group of people who are just like me, obsessed. I thank you for helping me feel comfortable and welcoming me into your group. You guys are awesome!

Kris.

Likewise Kris! It was good you could do the social thing too after the meet. Lots of fun all the way around. Mike

Hey Kris

Great to meet you.....I felt the same way last year. What a great group of guys. Refreshing to find so many who are willing to help. The social side is at least as enjoyable as the competition. Good luck. Stay healthy.

See you @ the next one...Maine?

Don

Ahhh Maine
