Thanks.

Have one of each, glad to share, however the poles are in Florida & still not sure about how/what I can bring to Boston. Are you going to Colorado Springs indoor? we could discuss then.

Hey guys,

Look, pretty much all of my poles are Gill-made (Pacer, Skypole, Mystic), but I have a very big stable of poles, and I'll be driving up from Connecticut on Saturday morning. I'm jumping in the 50-54 age group (so of course I'll get my butt kicked...if I make 10-6 I'm happy) at 9:30 am. I've got a friend coming with me who's in the 2:30 group, so I'll be there pretty much all day Sat.

If you are willing to jump on Gill poles, give me your requests, and I can probably save you a little $ and a TON of hassle by loaning you my poles (free of charge.....heck you'd do the same if the meet was in your backyard, right?). That way you won't have to fly with the sticks and you won't have to lug them from the airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the Reggie Lewis Center, etc.

I'll be bringing a couple of bags on the roof of my car anyway.

So, post your pole-for-loan requests to this forum or e-mail me at skyjumpersct@hotmail.com, and I'll see what I've got that'll suit you.

We'll be glad to help you out as well - Tom Rauscher is picking up a few sticks from us on his way into town and would have no problem adding a few more to the bag. If Russ doesn't have what you need (and I'm sure he does) then feel free to check out our inventory :

(poles in blue are lent out already)

Unfortunately I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend do to the fact that our annual coaching clinic is the same weekend. If I can't I wish the best of luck to y'all

WOW!! That's great guys and a huge help. I know a couple of guys on the bubble about late entry because of no poles to travel with. And you're right, we would do the same.

I made a small donation to Joel Flores to use U of Hawaii's poles at Nationals in Honolulu in 2005. It saved me the $/hassle and gave him a "thanks" for the efforts. I hope those who take you up on the offer consider the same.

Looking forward to seeing everyone as always!! Bubba

Well I have officially entered. Not quite the best meet to break in on, but hey, why not start out at the top?

This will be my first competition since 1987!

I truly look forward to meeting so many of you. I have learned so much from reading post after informative post.

This is going to be fun!

Hey Guys. I've been trying to help out my buddy kwhit3 with some video analysis for a few months so it will be great to have him aboard. I had put the word out that he might be looking for a roomie in Boston but I guess you guys can handle it direct now if anybody has space. Thanks!

Welcome kwhit3. :D When I started back in 2003 after a 35 year layoff, my first meet (other than a street vault) was the outdoor national championships in Eugene! I was a real newbie. I didn't know you had to declare, and I almost missed that time deadline. It turned out great though and was the start to a fun "second career" of vaulting. I hope your experience turns out the same.

It's Friday, and no one has sent me any pole requests. My quads are very sore, and I'm beginning to think that I might skip the trip to Boston tomorrow. My kids have practice tomorrow morning, so I might simply stay here in CT and coach their practice instead.

Okay, okay. Practice got called off thanks to a lacrosse practice. So I plan to make the trip and see if I can get over a crossbar. One of my kids has decided to drive up with me to coach the coach. How cool. I'll never hear the end of it, I'm sure. It'll be fun.

See ya,
Russ
