I just got back from the Wisconsin Twilight meet. The pole vault started at 315 with the girls......by the time the guys were done it was a little past 930. The biggest reason was that the girls started at 8'6"" and the winning height was 12". The guys started at 13' and the winner was near 17.......Anyone else have these marathon pole vault competitions

I was at a HS meet once that started at 9am and ended at 7:30pm. There were like 50-something vaulters and the winning height was only 14'6"! Probably the most inefficiently run meet ever.

a few weeks back at LSU, there were some 41 guys that vaulted and about 30 something girls. The girls started jumping at 1:00 and finished around 5:00. The guys were then given an hour of warmups and it didn't finish until 9:30. But the meet did move rather fast, they went from 4.30m (14'1") to 4.50m (14'9") to 4.70 (15'5"). It knocked many guys out quickly, but it still took a long time.

A few years back there was a indoor meet at the University of houston called the all comers meet. I think there were 60 something girls and 80 something guys. It went on from 10 in the moring till like 12 30 at night. It was ridiculous.
