Way to go Thomas Fowlkes, that is a season best for him this year.

Also congrats to my homeboy Hurley. Clearing a regional qualifier and a personal record.

That is also the first time he has ever successfully come in at 4.90.

Haven't heard him called that in a long time.

Anyways, yeah, he should be jumping higher. He jumped 4.90 as a high school senior (bar-raping PR), 4.91 (clean) as a college freshman, 5.00 (very clean) as a college sophomore last year. This year, he hasn't jumped higher than 4.90 in a meet (although he has had some pretty high jumps in practice).

He has had alot on his plate, having a wife and daughter and all, and I guess he hasn't been able to practice on a consistent schedule. Maybe that's why he hasn't been doing as well as he should this year. Or maybe he needs someone to push him during his vault sessions. I don't know. You'd have to ask him. I haven't practiced with him that much, especially not lately, due to a hamstring injury that I sustained a couple of weeks ago.

He has had some problems finishing vaults at 5.00 and 5.05 in competition as well. So, maybe it's mental.

For someone who doesn't get to go to practice regularly, doesn't have coach, doesn't get to ice or get stretched ever, has to bring his daughter to practice or meets sometimes, is lucky if he gets 2 hours at practice because he lets his wife go out there for the rest of the time and jump, and spends any "free" time taking care of a baby, going to school, and working, 4.90 is pretty damn good.

I am sure he will jump higher...but I don't want to hear anyone say he should be, because he has a lot to worry about that most athletes don't.

(congrats on the dec win this week trey!!)

Congrats on a two PR meet for Jennie Sewell! I saw her jump 4.02 for a pr two weeks ago at Houston and she made it look easy. 4.15 is up there. Way to compete with the best of them, Jennie!
