Joe Berry, who won five SEC championships in the pole vault, has been dismissed from the Tennessee men's track and field team due to a violation of team rules.
UT made the announcement Thursday in a track and field news release.
Berry was not able to compete during the indoor season because the senior had only outdoor eligibility remaining.
Berry won the pole vault during the SEC indoor championships in 2009 and 2011, and won the SEC outdoor title in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
Only Lawrence Johnson, who won a silver medal in the Olympics, won more SEC titles in the pole vault in UT history. Johnson won six.
Berry finishes his UT career ranked No. 9 outdoors at 17 feet, 9 inches and No. 8 indoors at 17-8 ½.
