FAYETTEVILLE - On day one of the Razorback Invitational, the No. 3 University of Arkansas women's track and field team came away with victories in the pentathlon from Makeba Alcide and Tina Sutej in the pole vault. Alcide scored 3,997 points to win the five-event competition by more than 160 points. In the pole vault, Sutej established the best mark in the country with a clearance of 4.45m (14-7.25).
Sutej posted her second NCAA automatic-qualifying mark of the season with a victory in the pole vault. In her second competition of the season, Sutej had a final clearance of 4.45m (14-7-25) to finish ahead of Katerina Stefanidi of Stanford and teammate Tara Diebold, respectively. With a win in hand, Sutej took a trio of unsuccessful attempts at bettering her own collegiate record. Diebold tied the second-best clearance of her career, getting over the bar set at 4.25m (13-11.25) to finish in third place.
