uconn vaulter
i am a polevaulter at uconn and to walk on you need to be doing 15+ and it also depends on if the coaches see potential in you, good luck

basically if a coach sees how much of his or her time will be spent, and how much improvement can be made over that time. Some coaches want you on a progression, eventually winning their championship, or at least medaling. Then again some coaches don't care. I don't go to uconn so I dont know. Why don't you call up that particular coach and find out?

potential
I mean Potential by he has to see if he can work with you, you have a good attitude, and get along with the team, also if you are gonna improve by him working with him, basically our vault team is stacked we have 5 full time vaulters and 2 decathaletes over 16 and 16 5, he gives tryouts to walk ons basically at a small meet at the begining of the year and he will hold an individual tryout for you if you cant do the trial by fire meet, opening probably around 14, 14 6. If you have the will and the time give it a shot, just work hard, good luck

Yeah the girls team there is not that great, the coaches suk, and are not even spoken in the same sentence as the guys team,

the coaches dont know what they are talkin about on the girls team atleast for the polevault
the guys coaches are the truth we have a nice team and are gonna be a big east powerhouse this season

At arizona our team is stacked for the 03-04 year, 3 17+ vaulters (1 17'11 guy), 2 16+ vaulters and 1 15'6 dec. I'm thinking to walk on you should have a pr of at least 15'6, but you better improve that pretty soon if you want to stay on the team. We just got a new coach this year and his hands are full. He's cutting all guys not over 16 by 1 month into the season, and girls not over 12. Should be a great year.
Just fly high, and KISS THE SKY!!!
