Okay, someone please inform me. Has his technique changed much in the last 2 years. Cuz when i saw him jump at junior nationals i though he looked like cr@p. well, let me rephrase, not crap. but certainly not a 18'8 vaulter (or even a 17'8 as he was at the time). The only thing i felt he shared with those caliber vaulters is a HOSS freakin run. kids hauls. So, unless things have changed, i give up on technique work and im just gonna train myself to run a 10.2 hundred.

I have the video around here somewhere of when he broke his pole and his hand at Nike Indoor Championships. But I don't think that is the one you are looking for.

I saw him vault 2 years ago at the tacoma beach vault, and I would agree. I think it's actually a compliment b/c man does he have room to really jump high(well he already is jumping really high, um higher then) .
An optimist is one who sees a light in darkness....a pessimist blows it out.
Think about this....
How many jumps does it take to get to PR Heighth?
Consider how much effort you give to each heighth.
The more jumps then the less effective the learnings and the less effort needed in the performance.
I've only seen it twice in 25 years of coaching.
