16 suks
i have been stuck at 16 feet for some reason for so long its killing me, last year granted was my frosh year at a new school and new environment, but still coming out of highschool my pr was 15 8 and i got 16 a couple times never in a meet though, then i get to school and my pr is 15 9, it suked so bad, and i was on a 16 foot pole i gained weight and just couldnt figure it out i guess, so far i have been just using 15s this preseason and have been doin better from a short approach, im kinda nervous to touch the 16s but im excited too so we will see what happens, hopefully now that i have my weight and flexiblity under control i will kick the crap out of the 16 footers this year and make them my B*@#$ instead of vice versa

16 is a barrier
thanx man i grip real low ont he 16s too the give me a huge pop, like if i hold the top of a 16 or when i did last season i wouldnt get anything of the top, i get more capping like a 15 90 95 and get over 16 more easily then i grab a 16 and its like holy crap why is it taking so long i need to just get more comfortable with them i guess

15 8
Highschool is 15 8 , a thank you . shoulda been 16 but the standards didnt go that high, i was pissed. thats new england for you though, new england is a little behind in the vault, at meets in highschool i would start vaulting when the meets were over, and my opening height was 3+ feet over the kids in second place, kinda crappy

My freshman year was about as grand as yours, Jake. Alot of it had to do with the fact that I was vaulting in pain, due to a freakin broken vertebrae. But on the bright side, I got out of Syracuse (who couldnt figure out what was wrong with me) and moved to VT country and I get to redshirt an entire year to let this thing heal. My sophomore year, whether its this spring unattached, or next year will be alot better than frosh year. Before I got the prognosis, I was jumping very very well down here.
