New Georgia Indoor State Record (Girls)

Hey Gang,

Matt from Pole Vault Atlanta here wanting to submit a few cool stats and a video from our recent meet at the Atlanta Track Club facility. Indoor track in Georgia does not exist. Georgia has not hosted an indoor track meet since February 2001, but the Atlanta Track Club recently bought & renovated a warehouse downtown where they built a 55m 6-lane track with a PV runway. Pole Vault Atlanta & the Atlanta Track Club worked together and put together the first indoor track meet since '01 when it hosted 53 vaulters last weekend. This USATF sanctioned meet saw some pretty impressive results. Carson Dingler, Becky Arbiv, and Kaylee Riley are the three highest high-school jumpers in the state's history. All three girls have committed to vaulting in college as well -- Dingler: Stephen F. Austin, Arbiv: Duke University, & Riley: University of Alabama, and they have the potential to be the top three vaulters at the USATF Youth Championships this coming summer if all three choose to attend. Carson has received some national attention while jumping in Poland for USATF U-19 team and she's also jumped in a number of national meets. Kaylee & Becky of PVATL both tied for 3rd at the USATF Nationals Meet this past summer. Becky jumped at Millrose Games last year where she placed 2nd on misses, and Kaylee has slowly moved up the ladder in Georgia's all-time rankings from top 15 in her sophomore year to 3rd by the end of her junior year. In Georgia, we're often overshadowed by the sprints, hurdles, throws, & some XC times/distances, but these three girls are literally tearing it up in the vault. This year, we could see 3 girls over 4 meters with the possibility of a 14' vaulter!

At the meet at the Atlanta Track Club, Becky jumped 4.11m, won the meet, and set a new indoor state-record. Here is the video link to the jump. Huge congrats to Becky and her PV coach Hal Fairbanks of PVATL for the accomplishment!
