Here’s an article that may be of interest to some talented high school vaulters:
http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascit ... 473346.htm
The Missouri State High School Activities Association prohibits student-athletes of its member schools from competing more than 250 miles outside the state during the high school season.
Adam Perkins, an outstanding high school middle-distance runner in the Kansas City area, has decided to skip his senior high school track season. He said that he felt that in order to better himself and represent his school and state, he needed to compete at major national meets. He also said that he is attempting to make a statement in that he is just trying to do better for his sport for future athletes.
Anyway, thought that article might be of interest as some of the better high school vaulters seem to get all tangled up with school regulations when attempting to attend meets having a high level of competition outside their state.
